I didn't see "oblivion" however, as the NPRM talked both about "incorporate" and about "receipt" e.g., "(1) Transitions of care – incorporate summary care record. Upon RECEIPT of a summary care record formatted according to the standard adopted at § 170.205(a)(3)..." I view "receipt" as what you call "catching" the summary of care record. <br /><br />BTW, "receipt" implies push, as in Direct, since it doesn't say "retrieval" which is the word typically used in "pull" scenarios. I have a concern about the recent endorsement by HIT SC of Direct SMTP as the only protocol they recommend for certification.
